Children’s Academy has very productive spring semester
The last few months have been relatively stable at The Children’s Academy. As a result, it was a very productive spring semester. From organizing community meetings, to planting hundreds of trees, to holding an agricultural fair, to arranging wellness visits, and taking respect for women to a new level through Community Change Groups, we’re very proud of what the school accomplished this spring.
Innovating to improve student reading at The Children’s Academy
In Haiti where 40% of people are illiterate, learning to read well is a challenge. Parents often can’t help their children, students have limited access to books, and often teachers aren’t strong readers themselves. To improve student reading, The Children’s Academy created a competition to encourage students to read while engaging the community in the effort. Learn more.
Partner School creates new activity to help students engage, find their voices
Following the lead of The Children’s Academy, our most remote Partner School, Bèl Platon Community School, innovated a new activity to help students learn to speak up and engage more in school. They call it, “Word Space.”

After they recently tweaked their rating system, we’re pleased to share that Haiti Partners was re-evaluated by Charity Navigator, the world’s largest and most trusted nonprofit evaluator, and not only did we re-earn their Four-Star Rating but we also maintained our 100% Score!
