[Video] Wozo youth choir commemorates the 2010 Haiti Earthquake 13 years on

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1673561961504{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]At 4:53pm ET on this day 13 years ago Haiti suffered one of the worst natural disasters in modern history. We pause to remember and honor the hundreds of thousands of people who lost their lives or loved ones on that tragic day.

Everyone in Haiti lost someone they loved on January 12, 2010. This practice of remembering and honoring them is important to both help people heal from the national trauma of this devastating event and also, looking forward, to encourage them to become change agents and global citizens towards building a brighter future.

The response of the rest of the world touched and inspired us in powerful ways. The Children’s Academy itself is evidence of what is possible when local engagement meets international solidarity and generosity. We are very grateful for this and the great work it has allowed us to accomplish together.[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider size=”25″][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/I8uVliIVOHQ”][mk_padding_divider][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1673562852745{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]We invite you to watch this video of a song written and performed by the Children’s Academy Wozo choir about the 2010 earthquake. This performance was recorded in 2020 and includes, on guitar, our friend Gueldy Rene who recently passed well before his time. It is also in his honor and memory we share this now.

Thank you for keeping Haiti close to your heart in this time of remembrance.

In solidarity,

Merline & John for Haiti Partners[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
