The art reproduced on these cards was created by Gardy, a 9th-grade student at Haiti Partners’ Children’s Academy and Learning Center in Haiti. Gardy chose the butterfly image during a classroom activity designed to help students work through trauma caused by gang activity in their community. He feels that the butterfly symbolizes the transformation that he has felt as a person and a student in his first three years at The Children’s Academy.
