Learning with Joy at the Children’s Academy

There’s a popular Haitian proverb, “Men anpil chay pa lou.” It translates, “Many hands make light work.” Well, the other day we tested this out at the Children’s Academy by having a group of students carry their teacher across the school yard. As you can see in the video, it went pretty well! 😄

They also did this bearing in mind the school’s value for the month, JOY. As school Coordinator Alex Myril said, “It was a time for everyone to enjoy rising to a challenge together while sharing the responsibility for a task.”

At Haiti Partners, we believe that classroom learning is key. But we also believe that a lot of very important lessons happen outside the classroom. And we’re grateful for the freedom to be able to explore such creative, fun lessons as these.
