Marvens, permaculture gardening, and the value of education

In Children's Academy, Class of 2028, General, Quality Schools Program, Stories of Change

This is Marvens, a fourth grader at the Children’s Academy. For several years now he’s been learning sustainable, permaculture gardening techniques at school. In this picture, he’s applying those techniques in his family’s home garden.

And this is what our work is all about: We’re not just educating students to do well in school, we’re preparing them for better lives. In this case, for Marvens and his family this means learning to care for a garden that is both bountiful and sustainable.

Great work, Marvens! We can’t wait to see the places you’ll go!
