More on COVID-19 Prevention: Mask-making at the Children’s Academy

In Children's Academy, community, General, Quality Schools Program

Our teams in Haiti have made more than 3,000 masks so far for our students and staff and their families and other community members. Masks are made by Daphney (in photo) and others out of t-shirts that families bring to them. It’s the most cost-effective way we know of for producing washable masks and it taps into the resourcefulness of families. Supporters have made it possible for us to purchase thousands of masks for families where there were not sewing machines available.

Tapping into people’s resourcefulness is a big part of what our school-based community development approach is all about. Thank you for your support.
