[Video] Wozo Choir commemorates 15th anniversary of Haiti earthquake

If you follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram perhaps you saw the video we posted on January 12, the 15th anniversary of Haiti’s terrible earthquake.

The video documents activities that the students did with teachers during the week leading up to the day to honor those who died and those who lost loved ones. Many of the students were not alive when the earthquake happened but they hear talk about family members and friends–including children–who lost their lives. Activities they did–learning about, discussing, remembering, and honoring those who suffered, and even writing the song together–help them to develop empathy, compassion, connection, and wisdom.

These types of rituals help create a culture where children, staff, and families are more likely to experience a sense of belonging.

Thank you again for being involved with us in this work.
