Over 120 people came out to the Northern Trust Bank community room earlier this month to help Haitians change Haiti through education. Guests enjoyed a variety of white and red wines provided by local Vero Beach wine shop Varietals, paired with appetizers from Bistro Fourchette, Citrus Grill, Southern Social, and Wild Thyme Catering. A silent and live auction featured handcrafted artisan goods imported from Haiti, along with many items donated from community businesses such as International Diamond Center, Man-o-War Fishing Co, Vero Beach Theatre Guild, Salt Therapy, Indian River by Air, Calvetti and Co, Jungle Club and Brooks Brothers.
Haiti Partners is thrilled by the generous community involvement and participation from local people who are investing in the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children and adults. So much time and effort was spent by this year’s committee, led by local philanthropist, Ingrid Biesaart. “Haiti holds a very special place in my heart and it was a joy to be involved in such a meaningful way,” said Ingrid. Joining her in these good works were Vero Beach residents Kay Hammond, Leslie Tilley, Betty Sammartino, Carol Martin, Cathy LaCroix, Charlotte Terry, Cindy Brown, and Al Gustave, Linda Spencer, and Jane Stanfield.
Through an evening of celebration, money was raised to make a real difference through education in Haiti.
