Did you know you can make a difference for Haiti Partners with your IRA?
You know better than anyone the importance of generosity and kindness — without our community’s support since 2009, we would not be able to push ahead toward our vision. Thanks to you, Haiti Partners can help Haitians change Haiti through education. Together, we’re building schools that can cultivate learning and innovation for children and adults of all ages, a center of activity that brings the whole community together.
While the past several years have been especially challenging for our community, with all that has changed, one thing remains consistent: your support.
With bright days ahead, many supporters are looking for ways to help provide life-changing education — and many are surprised to hear that by donating to us directly from their IRA, they can save while supporting our vital work.
Donors 70.5 and older are eligible to benefit from making a gift from their IRA! In many cases, these gifts, also known as Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), are 100% tax-free and can potentially help you save on your 2023 taxes.
To help make the process, and paperwork, a bit simpler, Haiti Partners is sharing a free and secure online tool: a simple platform that highlights some of the benefits of IRA giving — and, if you’re ready to make an impact, helps you make your gift in just a few minutes.
QCDs make an immediate impact: First and foremost, your IRA gift will be put to use on our work providing support to our work, and the key initiatives you care about.
Have you heard about the recent changes in retirement legislation? The age for Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) has been updated so that donors 73 and older must take an RMD, or likely face a hefty tax penalty. However, if you were subject to RMDs in 2022, you must take your RMD in 2023. These funds can be used towards a tax-savvy IRA gift! An IRA gift can count towards your RMD without counting toward your taxable income for the year.
Using this free and secure online tool, you can fill out the necessary forms online from your IRA custodian or print out what you need to get started. This online tool will not require you to input any sensitive personal information, and it takes just 10 minutes.
