Calvary Church Youth in Haiti

In Partners Program, Quality Schools Program

June 13, 2011

I (John Engle) started out orientation on a dirt road in a congested area yelling out to 47 youth and youth leaders, “This is the first time I’ve ever done this so I’m not sure what to expect.”

Any anxiety that the visitors from Calvary Church in Holland, Michigan were feeling about this five and a half mile hike into the mountains was likely increased.

But, I did get their attention. And what a truly wonderful day this past Saturday was. See video below which shows clips. We sweated, laughed, prayed, and broke bread together. I also enjoyed meaningful conversations all along the way.

Calvary Church is a major partner with us in the Children’s Academy project. My co-workers and I are blessed to have the opportunity to be in relationship with many fine people at this thriving church community. We give God thanks for them and for all their congregation is doing to help Haitians change Haiti.
