The Children’s Academy and Learning Center held its 5th Anniversary celebration last Sunday. It was a beautiful day with over 1,000 people coming from all over the area to celebrate. There was singing, dancing and music by students, teachers, youth and parents, and many speeches celebrating the accomplishments of students and the school. (Pictures below.)
Registration of new students—age 3—for the 2017-18 school year is done the day after the celebration each year. Parents arrived at 5:00 am this morning to register their children. By 10:00 am, the 30 slots were filled. We will be doing a campaign to raise funds for scholarships for this new class. Our strategy is to have groups of friends, employees, church members, a town, to come together to cover yearly scholarship of $25,000 for the entire class.
Might you consider creating a group to partner with us and invest in Haiti’s future? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
The mission of the Children’s Academy is to prepare and inspire changemakers. This is accomplished through using student-centered and values-based educational approaches that develop character and work to educate the whole child. The Children’s Academy is the centerpiece of our school-based community development strategy in Bawosya.
Haiti Partners is honored to be a part of the community in Bawosya and the effort to make it a better place to live. We are grateful to everyone who has partnered with us in this important work, and, if you haven’t yet, we invite you to partner with us to help make this dream a reality.
