The streets have quieted as the snow birds are now gone, school busses are parked, and families are traveling; but here at the Haiti Partners office we are turning up the heat with exciting opportunities for a memorable summer.
For those who like to shop and have a love of Haitian art and crafts you can now visit the Haiti Partners booth at the Vero World Bazaar and Antique Mall on US-1 near Oslo Road. There you’ll find a variety of Haitian art and goods, all recently imported. There you can also pick up Co-Director Kent Annan’s books including his newest, Slow Kingdom Coming which was released in May.
If shopping isn’t your thing then perhaps you like food? We have multiple opportunities for you to tantalize your taste buds and do good at the same time. First, in partnership with Daley Real Estate and Grind+Grape you’re invited to Food Jam on Monday August 1st! It’ll be an evening of socializing, cooking, eating and summer sippin. Second, on Wednesday August 24th, from 5-9PM grab the family and make dinner a selfless act by heading over to Chipolte on SR60. 50% of your meal cost will go directly to supporting educational programs in Haiti through Haiti Partners.
Lastly we welcome summer intern, Noemi Monnerville, a senior at Vanderbilt University. Noemi is spending her summer here in the office to promote advocacy for students, women, and children in Haiti. What does that mean? Well, if you have a heart for helping and you are looking for something to do this summer consider stopping by on Tuesdays to offer whatever talents you may have. There’s something for everyone!
We can’t wait to see you around town sometime soon!
