In commemoration, The Wozo Youth Choir wants to share this song with you. It is an updated version of the original they wrote after the tragedy to honor the unfathomable many lives lost on January 12, 2010. View the English translation here:
SONG WRITTEN AND COMPOSED BY WOZO,
The Haiti Partners Youth ChoirJanuary 12th, a day of terror and tears
Eyes and hearts of Haitians filled with pain
January 12th, a day of terror and tears
Eyes and hearts of Haitians filled with pain
A horrific disaster, followed by cholera, and misery
take so many to their deathYour blood spilled
and your souls live on and you are with us
Giving your fellow Haitians strength
for the work of rebuilding Haiti
O…O… we will never forget this day
Today while we remember, honor and mourn those lost as a result of this tragic event, we also redouble our efforts and renew our commitment to support Haiti’s students, families and communities as they lead their country towards a brighter, safer future.
Thank you for your support in these ongoing efforts.
Gratefully,
Merline & John for Haiti Partners[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/ODDu_jAB5Mo”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
