As a result of Hurricane Matthew, Haiti Partners’ work has shifted to identifying the hardest hit areas within our networks and developing and implementing our response plan. In the fall report, we will discuss this work in detail.
Though this is where our focus needs to be right now, the good work that takes place throughout the year in the Quality Schools program has and continues to go on. In this report, we highlight the progress that was made this summer, including:
- The 5th annual Teacher Summit training. 13 expert teachers and administrators came from Calvary Church in Holland, MI to work with 46 of our partner school and Children’s Academy educators.
- The Children’s Academy added another 30 students, bringing the total to 184.
- Three middle school grades were added at the partner schools. These 6 schools now educate 1055 students each day.
- Children’s Academy parents recorded 39,210 service hours during the 2015-16 school year.
Thank you for your interest and support of this important work. We couldn’t do it without you!
