[Video] Wozo youth choir commemorates the 2010 Haiti Earthquake 14 years on

On this day, January 12, at 4:53pm ET 14 years ago Haiti suffered one of the worst natural disasters in modern history. We pause to remember and honor the hundreds of thousands of people who lost their lives or loved ones on that tragic day. We invite you to watch this short music video of a song written and performed by the Children’s Academy Wozo Choir in memory of the 2010 earthquake.

Everyone in Haiti lost someone on January 12, 2010. This practice of remembering and honoring them is important to both help people heal from the national trauma of this devastating event and also, looking forward, to encourage them to become change agents and global citizens working to build a brighter future.

The response of the rest of the world touched and inspired us in powerful ways. The Children’s Academy itself is evidence of what is possible when local engagement meets international solidarity and generosity. We are very grateful for this and the great work it has allowed us to accomplish together.
