Summer Camp improves Children’s Academy while teaching employable skills

The Children’s Academy recently hosted summer camp activities teaching practical skills like furniture making and construction to students and parents. Guided by a local artisan and skilled parents, participants helped build classroom tables and two new high school classrooms. Participants earned a modest wage for their work, helping them afford necessary school supplies while reducing school expansion costs. Learn more.

Celebrating Community Change at The
Children's Academy

Following a six-month training program, participants graduated from Community Change Groups, a school-based initiative for parents, adults, and students. Through the “Education is Conversation” approach, members use dialogue and role-playing to address critical community issues like child abuse, sexual harassment, and servitude—empowering them to build healthier relationships and actively intervene for change. Kendy finds safety and community through sports at Children's Academy

After escaping violence in Port-au-Prince, 16-year-old Kendy found safety and community at The Children’s Academy. The 8th-grade student uncovered his hidden athletic talent, becoming the top goal scorer in the school’s 2026 Interclass Soccer Championship. Grateful for the support that gave him hope, Kendy views his soccer success as a life-saving victory over fear and a testament to youth resilience. Learn more.

Stronger Together annual Haiti Scholarship Benefit to be held at Saint Joseph's Art Society in San Francisco

We are excited to share that this year the Stronger Together Haiti Scholarship Benefit will be held at Saint Joseph’s Art Society in San Francisco. St Joseph’s, a beautiful historic romanesque revitalized church is a grand, coveted space, which will help us reinvigorate and grow this annual event, now going into its 11th year.
