Cholera and Program Update

In General, Partner Schools, Quality Schools Program, Reports

October 28, 2010

The cholera outbreak has stabilized. As of yesterday, it’s reported that 292 people have died and 4,147 hospitalized. We’re encouraged to see how leaders and educators in our LEADERS, TEACHERS, and DISCIPLES programs are mobilizing: using their laptops (received from Haiti Partners) and internet to circulate critical prevention and remedy information, organizing community meetings, showing cholera videos in tent camps (thanks to Briggs and Stratton generators), etc.

Yesterday began a three-day training by Hannah Meadow and Benaja Antoine with 45 of our teachers from 4 partner schools. We continue to focus on progress even in the midst of the many challenges and we couldn’t be more grateful for support from people like you. Click here to see photos of training.
