At just 16 years old, Kendy is more than the top goal scorer in The Children’s Academy’s 2026 Interclass Soccer Championship. He is a powerful reminder of what hope, opportunity, and community can accomplish.
An 8th-grade student, Kendy came to The Children’s Academy after violence and armed groups forced many families to flee their communities in Port-au-Prince. Like so many young people, his future suddenly became uncertain. Then he found a place that welcomed him.
At The Children’s Academy, Kendy discovered more than a classroom. He discovered a family that believed in him. Through education, encouragement, and sports, he uncovered a talent he never knew he had. Today, he proudly says: “Finding a school that embraced me and helped me discover my talent in sports saved my life.”
As he proudly wears his championship medal, Kendy also carries a message of gratitude: “Thank you to everyone who continues to support this work despite the challenges. Because of you, students like me have hope.”
Every goal Kendy scores is about more than soccer. It is a victory over fear, a celebration of resilience, and proof that when we invest in children, we help them discover the gifts that can change their lives.
Thank you for helping students like Kendy dream again. Together, we are preparing and inspiring Haiti’s next generation of changemakers.
