Haiti Earthquake Update

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1629233613137{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]As you may already know, there was an earthquake in Haiti this morning. It occurred at 8:29 am and was 7.2 on richter scale. Thank you to all of you who have reached out. Your thoughts, prayers, kindness and generosity mean so much to us.

We’ve spoken with co-workers and family throughout the day. While everyone felt it, the epicenter was further west than Port-au-Prince and Bawosya, which is where The Children’s Academy is located. Our family members there, co-workers and families that we know of are safe. The Children’s Academy and Bellevue Guesthouse are without damage. We’re still waiting to hear back from four of our partner schools that were a bit closer. Communications seem to be down.

Three of our staff members at The Children’s Academy are from Les Cayes and Jeremie, coastal cities that were hit hard. One of them was visiting her family there. Two of these staff members have news from their families and one does not. Families of our co-workers are in distress. They lost their homes and family members.

Again, we can’t thank you enough for opening your hearts to the people of Haiti. Thank you for all your support. We will be seeking to assist family members of The Children’s Academy staff who have suffered losses from this earthquake. We await to hear from partner schools as to their situation and will do our best to support them.
Should you feel led to make a gift to assist with these efforts, it is welcomed. Simply indicate in the comment box that it’s for earthquake relief.[/vc_column_text][mk_button corner_style=”rounded” size=”large” url=”https://support.haitipartners.org/give/155583/#!/donation/checkout” target=”_blank” align=”center” margin_top=”15″ margin_bottom=”30″ margin_right=”” bg_color=”#ff2400″]Donate for Earthquake Relief[/mk_button][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1629233604439{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and support and will continue to share news and updates as we learn more.

Gratefully,
