Impact Update – Spring 2021

The Children’s Academy & Learning Center celebrates its first primary school graduates!

When the Children’s Academy opened in 2012, just two years after the devastating 2010 earthquake, we weren’t sure what the future would bring. Together with the community we had committed to building a school from the ground up, a school that would provide an education to “prepare and inspire changemakers” — a new generation of leaders ready to work toward a better life for themselves, their community and their country. Today, nine years later, we’re thrilled to share that this first class of students – the Class of 2028 – has just graduated from 6th grade. Despite extraordinary challenges – natural disasters, political unrest, a pandemic – the Children’s Academy has endured and the students have persevered. We look forward to continuing to grow the school, class by class, until it offers a complete secondary education. Click here for pictures of the Class of 2028 when they first joined us.

Home Gardens Project a Great Success!
